Education impact recognised by ‘Sustainability Spearhead Award’ nomination from STEMHub
We are pleased to announce that Northern Gas Networks has been shortlisted for the ‘Sustainability Spearhead Award’ at STEMHub’s 2026 STEM Awards. This award recognises our contribution to inspiring and educating young people about sustainability, Net Zero and the wider energy industry.
These Awards celebrate the work of organisations and individuals that actively support STEM education and the wider STEM sector.
Helping young people understand sustainability
Through our Net Zero Education programme, Northern Gas Networks works with schools and education settings to help young people understand Net Zero, climate change, sustainability and the important role of the energy industry.
The interactive, hands-on sessions that we offer give students opportunities to explore these important subjects, while assemblies, careers talks and wider engagement activities help showcase the range of opportunities available within the energy sector.
Recognising our inspirational STEM Ambassadors
The STEM Awards recognise the hard work and dedication of organisations involved in the STEM Ambassador programme and the positive impact they have made on young people and teachers over the past year.
STEMHubs are based across the country and are dedicated to inspiring future generations and bridging the gap between education and industry.
This shortlisting is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the colleagues and STEM Ambassadors who offer their time to engage, educate and inspire young people across the communities that we serve.
We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who has contributed to our STEM and education activities and helped make this recognition possible, and we’re looking forward to finding out whether we have won the category on 20 November.
