Generous Northern Gas Networks (NGN) colleagues have donated crucial items such as clothing and toiletries to Leeds Baby Bank, a charity which provides essential items to families in some of the most deprived areas of the city.
NGN delivers gas to 2.9 million homes and businesses across the North of England, and one of its thriving colleague communities is the Parents & Carers Community.
As well as spending days volunteering with Leeds Baby Bank, they also organised donation points at their head office in Leeds.
The donated items have now been handed over to the charity, and they’re already being distributed to families across the city.
Making a huge difference to local families
Jackie Appleton, Unit Manager at Leeds Baby Bank, said:
“We are so grateful for the donations and support, especially for items like toiletries and feeding bottles.
“These donations will make a huge difference to the families we help, some of whom have nothing, they just do not have the funds to afford even the basics. When we provide them with a parcel containing the essentials, they can often get quite emotional.
“Our mission is to make sure no child goes without because they’re born into a family experiencing poverty, and we rely on donations such as this.”
