Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work in Allerton, Bradford to replace the ageing metal pipework with new, more durable plastic pipes.
This work will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the Bradford area, keeping homes and businesses safe, warm and connected.
The project, which is expected to last until around mid September, has been planned in collaboration with Bradford Council. So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures have been put in place.
Work Details
From Monday 3 August, four way traffic lights will be in place on Haworth Road, at the junction of Cottingley Road, Wilsden Road and Stony Lane.
To minimise disruption, the lights will be manned from 7am to 7pm.
Chris Green, Business Operations Lead for Northern Gas Networks said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it is vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Allerton.
“We want to assure residents and road users that we will be working hard to complete this essential scheme as safely and as quickly as possible.”
