Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work in Starbeck, Harrogate to replace ageing metal pipework with new, more durable plastic pipes.
This work will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Harrogate, keeping homes and businesses safe, warm and connected.
The project, which is expected to last until the end of April, has been planned in collaboration with North Yorkshire Council. So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some temporary traffic management measures have been put in place.
There is an ongoing road closure on Bogs Lane until Wednesday 5 March, and a signed diversion is in place for motorists. Throughout the work, access for residents and businesses will be maintained where possible.
Temporary traffic lights are currently in place at the junction of Bogs Lane and Forest Lane. After Wednesday 5 March, and for the rest of the project, these will move along High Street/A59 towards Starbeck.
Mark Mawhood, Operations Manager at Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it’s vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Harrogate.”
