Northern Gas Networks owns and maintains 37,000km of underground pipes. These pipes transport gas to homes and businesses throughout the Yorkshire, the North East and northern Cumbria and power heating, cooking and hot water. Our network of pipes can be impacted by excavation work being carried out nearby. This could be anything from building a small extension to road or motorway improvements or a new housing development.
