Supporting cancer patients
Case study
One in two people will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime.
The impact can be huge, with patients often facing a reduction in finances and a range of practical difficulties, that they simply do not have the headspace to deal with.
With hundreds of people undergoing treatment every day, we wanted help reduce the impact for those facing the financial pressures of treatment, especially those who may be choosing between heating their home, eating properly, or attending vital appointments.
We’ve partnered with Northern Cancer Voices – a regional charity which acts as the voice of cancer patients and works to improve their quality of life.
Supporting people living with cancer
During patient interactions, Northern Cancer Voices volunteers promote the services we offer – including how to join the Priority Services Register and carbon monoxide (CO) advice, income maximisation and energy efficiency advice.
More than 500 patients have benefitted from the partnership so far, helping to reduce some of the stress of living with cancer.
