Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work in Middleton, Pickering to replace the ageing metal pipework with new, more durable plastic pipes.
This work will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the Pickering area, keeping homes and businesses safe, warm and connected.
The project, which has been planned in collaboration with North Yorkshire Council, is expected to last until around the end of September. So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures have been put in place.
Work Details
There will be a road closure on Middleton Carr Lane between Main Street and Back Lane South for two weeks starting on Monday 17 August. There will also be temporary multiway traffic lights on Main Street between Middleton Carr Lane and West View for the duration of the work.
Chris Keith, Operations Manager at Northern Gas Networks, said: “We would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused during these essential works. However, it’s vital we complete them in order to continue to maintain a safe and reliable gas supply to the residents of Middleton.”
