Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, has been carrying out essential repair work on gas pipes in Rawdon, Leeds.
At around midday on Tuesday August 4, engineers from Northern Gas Networks (NGN) responded to reports of a gas escape on a pipe on Belmont Grove, Rawdon, Leeds.
Our teams have worked extended hours to carry out this work as quickly as possible, completing the repair to the pipe on Wednesday 5 August.
To protect the safety of engineers, members of the public and road users, temporary four-way traffic lights were in place on Harrogate Road, Rawdon, at the junction of Green Lane and Belmont Grove, until 7pm on Friday 7 August.
The gas supply to properties and businesses in the area has not been affected.
Dale Hemingway, Site Manager at NGN, said: “We apologise for the disruption caused by this emergency repair work, however it is essential to keep gas flowing safely and reliably to the residents of Rawdon.
“Our engineers worked around the clock to completed the repair to the pipe earlier.
“Traffic management will remain in place until 7pm on Friday 7 August to ensure everyone’s safety. We recognise that this is a very busy area and ask anyone travelling to Leeds Bradford Airport to allow more time for their journeys until that time.”
