Northern Gas Networks to carry out essential mains repair work on the A58 near Leeds

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out emergency gas repair work in Leeds from Monday 12th August.

The essential work will require a lane closure to be put in place on the A58 from Armley Gyratory to Spen Lane.

The repair is being carefully planned in conjunction with Leeds City Council and NGN teams will be working hard to complete it as soon as possible. The work is currently expected to take approximately seven days.

Dale Hemingway, site technician for NGN, said: “We appreciate that this is a busy stretch of road but it is essential the emergency work is carried out safely for our teams on the ground and for members of the public. We’re very sorry for any disruption caused.”

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Wakefield.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels in the future.

The project is due to start on Friday 13th September and is expected to take approximately 5 weeks to complete. It has been planned in collaboration with Wakefield Council.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the members of the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

From Friday 13th September there will be temporary traffic lights on Doncaster Road, from the junction of Weeland Road to the junction of Pontefract Road. These will be in place for the full duration of the project.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in Hull.

The ageing metal pipework is being upgraded to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now while getting the network ready to transport alternative greener fuels the future.

Work began on Monday 17th June and was scheduled to take 21 weeks to complete. The work has been planned in collaboration with Hull City Council.

Due to engineering difficulties, the work is taking a little longer than we planned, and we have made a few adjustments to the upcoming traffic management:

Junction closures onto Holderness Road

Lee Street and Summergangs Road from Wednesday 7th August until Friday 23rd August.

Lane Closures and contraflow on Holderness Road between Laburnum Avenue and the Old Crown pub in both directions from Wednesday 14th August until Wednesday 4th September. During the lane closures, bus lane cameras will be disabled.

Access will be maintained for pedestrians and cyclists and a signed diversion will be in place for motorists. Updates can be found on one.network.co.uk

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable, plastic pipes to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready to transport alternative fuels in future.

Work is due to start on Monday 5th August and is expected to last for approximately 10 weeks.

The project will begin on Park Road North, working from the junction of Park Vale Road to Linthorpe Road.

Work will then continue past the Cenotaph and on to Park Road South, and this section is expected to take around six weeks to complete. Work will also take place on Granville Road, Albert Terrace, Belk Street, Tennyson Street and Kensington Road.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

From Monday 5th August there will be a road closure on Park Road North from the junction of Linthorpe Road to Park Vale Road. After this section is completed, the road closure will continue on Park Road South at the rear of the Dorman Museum to Albert Gate Apartments.

Access to the buildings between Linthorpe Road and Belk Street can be gained via Woodlands Road, Park Lane and Belk Street.

Access to buildings between Belk Street and Park Vale Road will be via Park Vale Road.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable, plastic pipes to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now, while getting the network ready for the future.

The work on York Road will start on the 29th of July between the junctions of Park Road and Victoria Road. This work will last for approximately three weeks. It has been planned in collaboration Hartlepool Borough Council.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

As of the 29th of July  there will be a road closure on York Road between the junctions of Park Road and Victoria Road, this will be in Place for up to 3 weeks and there will be a fully signed diversion in place. For anyone who needs to make deliveries this will need to be before 8am or after 5pm when the team is not working on site. Please allow extra time for your journey.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now and in the future.

The project began on Monday 15 July and is expected to take approximately 7 weeks to complete. It has been planned in collaboration with Wakefield City Council and has been scheduled to take place during school holidays to help minimise disruption.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the members of the public, some traffic management measures will be put in place.

From Wednesday 24  July the inbound lane of Doncaster Road will be closed, between the junction of Neil Fox Way and Agbrigg Road. The closure will be in place until Wednesday 7 August.

A diversion will be put in place along Neil Fox Way (A6194), Noval Way (A6194), Aberford Road/Stanley Road (A642), Jacobs Wells Lane (A642), Marsh Way (A61) and Kirkgate (A61).

Buses will be affected by the diversion and a shuttle bus will be provided while the road closure is in place.  Please check https://one.network for details.

After the road reopens, traffic will have access both ways again with just one lane not in use going outbound and diversions will be in place.

These diversions will be removed on Thursday 22 August for the Hatchling Event at Pugneys Country Park and will be back in place Monday 26 August.

Northern Gas Networks to carry out essential upgrade work to reinstate the grass verges following on from gas mains replacement work.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, recently carried out essential work to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers around the Washington area.

We now need to return to the area to reinstate the verges where the work was carried out.

The work will start on Saturday 27th July and be completed on Sunday the 28th July. Work is to be carried out on Castle Road and on the roundabout leading to the Galleries Shopping Centre.

We will be dropping down to one lane on Castle Road roundabout and also on the slip road going onto the Washington Highway Southbound.

There may be some delays in this area over this weekend whilst we carry out these works. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience that might be caused by this work.

The work will start on Wednesday 24th July and last in the area for 6 weeks.

So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect the public, the following traffic management will be put in place:

Our works will begin on Shadwell Lane where we will a full road closure allowing access only for Shadwell Medical Centre and Sandringham approach.

As works continue on Shadwell Lane our engineers will begin work on Ring road at the junction of Shadwell Lane. This work will also include a Lane closure affecting traffic Eastbound entering Shadwell Lane from Ring road.

Please be assured we will have a clear signed diversion route in place during this closure. Business’s will remain open as usual during our works taking place.

The ageing metal pipework is now being replaced by new, more durable plastic pipes, to ensure a safe and reliable supply of gas to customers now and in the future.

The work is expected to start on Tuesday 10 September and scheduled for completion in January 2025. It has been planned in collaboration with East Riding Council.

From Tuesday 10 September there will be three-way temporary traffic lights on High Street, at the junction of Roseacres. These will be in place for approximately 3 weeks.

From Tuesday 1 October there will be four-way temporary traffic lights on High Street, at the crossroads on Church Lane and Water Lane. These will be in place for approximately 2 weeks.

As the works progress, the temporary traffic lights will continue to move down High Street in sections, finishing at the junction near Willow Drive.

From Monday 5 January 2025, there will be three-way temporary traffic lights on Goole Road, at the junction of Balk Lane. These will be in place for approximately 2 weeks.

Advance warning signs will be displayed prior to works starting.

Temporary traffic lights will be implemented on Sowerby Road/Topcliffe Road/Station Road/Westgate roundabout from Monday 22 July for 3 weeks.

Temporary traffic lights will be in place along Topcliffe Road from Monday 5 August for 4 weeks.

Temporary traffic lights and restricted parking on Sowerby Road from Monday 27 August for 6 weeks.

Temporary traffic lights on Station Road from Monday 7 October for 4 weeks.
