Update: Temporary loss of gas supply – Halifax HX2 8SZ

Read

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) engineers remain on site in the Halifax area supporting customers who are without gas after water entered the gas network yesterday morning (Sunday 21st April 2024).

Approximately 57 properties in the Hunter Hill/Hambleton Drive HX2 8SZ area have had their gas supply turned off temporarily.  Engineers have been working around the clock to remove the water from the pipes so that gas supplies can be safely restored as soon as possible.

Work is progressing well and engineers have removed 150 litres of water from the gas network so far.

Once all of the water has been removed engineers will reconnect the gas supply to the network and go door to door to turn everyone’s gas safely back on at the meter.

If you need support while you are without gas please speak to a member of the team on site or call us on 0800 040 7766.

If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide please call the National Gas Emergency Service immediately on 0800 111 999.
