Latest update
We’re sorry for the disruption this incident caused. Ofgem, the energy regulator, calculates the compensation we pay to domestic customers who lose gas unexpectedly at £75 per property for every 24 hours without gas in the network.
The 24-hour restoration period begins when the interruption is reported and ends once gas is available to the network up to your gas meter.
At this point, the gas supply to your property is considered restored, even if your gas meter and appliances (boiler, cooker and gas fire etc), haven’t been turned back on. Once gas is restored to the network, our engineers visit all affected properties to safely turn the gas back on at the meter, prioritising vulnerable customers.
Our engineers restored gas to the network supplying customers in Pocklington in less than 24 hours in the majority of instances.
Where we didn’t achieve this timeframe, customers will be eligible for compensation. You don’t need to make a claim.
Payments will be calculated and paid automatically and will appear as a credit on your energy bill.
