The North of England’s gas distributor, Northern Gas Networks (NGN) is investing in upgrading the gas distribution network in Kirk Deighton.

The project is part of NGN’s ongoing investment in the gas infrastructure in the area to ensure the continued, safe and reliable supply of gas to homes and businesses in the area today, while getting the network is ready to deliver reliable and affordable green energy in future.

Work in the area will begin on Monday 2 March 2020 and is scheduled to last for approximately four weeks.  In order for works to be carried out safely and efficiently, works will be carried out in two phases and it will be necessary to implement temporary traffic management so that work can be carried out safely and efficiently.

Phase 1 will begin on Monday 2 March on Wetherby Road and Scriftain Lane. On this section there will be four way temporary traffic lights on Wetherby Road from the junction of Ashdale Lane to the junction of Scriftain Lane.

Phase 2 will begin on Monday 9 March. There will be two way traffic lights further along Wetherby Road, starting at the junction of Scriftain Lane heading towards the football pitch (Ashdale View). These will be in place for approximately two weeks.

We would like to apologise for any inconvenience customers may encounter and thank everyone for their support as we work to complete this project as safely and quickly as possible.

For further information about the project please contact NGN’s Customer Care Team on 0800 040 7766 or email: customercare@northerngas.co.uk.
