Important information: Potential delay to your meter installation

Between 19 May and 6 June, it may take longer than usual to arrange the meter installation with your gas supplier. This is because of an Ofgem initiative to replace the IT systems used across the UK gas market. It involves all gas suppliers and will ultimately make it easier for you to switch supplier and/or get a smart meter. You can find more information about Project Nexus on Ofgem’s website.

Essential repair work – South Street, Durham

Engineers from Northern Gas Networks are carrying out emergency work to repair a gas escape on South Street in Durham.

In order to carry out this work safely and efficiently, it has been necessary to close South Street, with diversions put in place to help manage the flow of traffic. Access has been maintained for residents via Crossgate, North Road and Milburngate.

Andy Coates, Network Officer, Northern Gas Networks said: “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and reassure members of the public that we are doing all we can to complete the work as quickly and safely as possible.
