Important information: Potential delay to your meter installation

Between 19 May and 6 June, it may take longer than usual to arrange the meter installation with your gas supplier. This is because of an Ofgem initiative to replace the IT systems used across the UK gas market. It involves all gas suppliers and will ultimately make it easier for you to switch supplier and/or get a smart meter. You can find more information about Project Nexus on Ofgem’s website.

Essential maintenance work – Coldstream, Berwickshire

A team of professional engineers from National Grid are currently carrying out essential maintenance work at one of Northern Gas Network’s gas offtake sites in Coldstream, Berwickshire.

As part of this maintenance work, gas is currently being vented in a safe and controlled manner from a large diameter gas main.

Local residents may see flames and hear some noise whilst this process is underway.

If you have any concerns you can contact the Northern Gas Networks’ Customer Care team on 0845 634 0508, option 5. The team is available between 8am and 10pm Monday to Friday, and 9am and 5pm on Saturday.
