Carbon Monoxide Alarm Winter Giveaway – Terms and Conditions

           

 

The Promoter is Northern Gas Networks Limited of 1100 Century Way, Thorpe Park Business Park, Colton, Leeds, LS15 8TU (‘the Promoter’).

This promotion is open to any resident or business owner within the Promotor’s distribution area, except for anyone directly connected with the planning or administration of the prize promotion (including any employees of NGN and their immediate families).

This promotion will run from Monday, 26th January 2026 until Thursday, 26 February 2026.

All competition entries must be received by the Promoter by no later than 11.59 pm on Thursday 26 February 2026. All competition entries received after the closing date will be automatically disqualified.

How to enter. To enter the competition:

  • All entrants must complete the CO Hero Survey with a pass.
  • Entrants who do not get a pass on the first survey will be given an opportunity to further their knowledge on Carbon Monoxide (CO). There will then be another opportunity to partake in the survey.
  • From there, successful passing entries will be asked to provide their details as to where they would like their CO alarm sent.

Entrants are limited to a single household entry (one per postcode), and to those with a valid address in the Northern Gas Networks region. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted, and joint submissions are not allowed.

No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.

Prizes. The prize for a winning entry is a carbon monoxide alarm.

The prizes are not negotiable. The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prizes with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.

There is no cash alternative for the prize.

Winners. There will be up to 1,000 Carbon Monoxide alarms available to win, with the winning entries being the first 1,000 entries who successfully completed the CO Hero Survey with a pass.

The decision of the Promoter is final, and no correspondence or discussion concerning the decision will be entered into.

The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation, the Promoter will confirm on Facebook when the competition is completed and when successful entrants can expect to receive their CO alarms by.

Claiming the prize. Winners will, after the competition closes at midnight on Thursday 26 February 2026, or an earlier date if the 1,000 Carbon Monoxide alarms are claimed sooner, will be notified on Northern Gas Networks’ social media that the competition has completed. Carbon Monoxide alarms will be dispatched 14 working days after the competition closes.

The Promoter will make all reasonable efforts to contact the winner. If the winner cannot be contacted, is not available, or declines the prize, the Promoter reserves the right to offer the prize to the next eligible entrant.

The Promoter does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the prize.

Limitation of liability. Insofar as is permitted by law, the Promoter, its agents or distributors will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize except where it is caused by the negligence of the Promoter, its agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

Data protection. As part of the introduction of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) we have updated our Privacy Notices. These Privacy Notices set out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed. The Promoter will only process your personal information as set out in the Privacy Notice: https://www.northerngasnetworks.co.uk/legal-information/. By providing us with your information, you agree to these terms and conditions and our Privacy Notices. The Promotor is only using the personal data of the entrants to administer the competition on the basis that it is necessary for entering or performing a Contract.

 

General.

  1. If there is any reason to believe that there has been a breach of these terms and conditions, the Promoter may, at its sole discretion, reserve the right to exclude you from participating in the competition.
  2. The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so for whatever reason, with no liability to any entrants or third parties but if this happens, we will use all reasonable endeavours to avoid disappointment.
  3. These terms and conditions are governed by English law. If any entrants to this promotion wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within the courts in the United Kingdom
