Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, is carrying out essential work to upgrade the gas network in Darrington, near Pontefract.
The work, which is expected to take 14 weeks to complete, will begin on Monday 21 September on Ash Grove and will involve replacing the ageing metal pipework with new, more durable plastic equivalents to ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to customers in the area.
Work Details
To ensure engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, and to protect members of the public, a road closure will be in place on Marl Pit for two weeks from Monday 26 September.
As the work progresses to the East Court Road junction with Marl Pit Lane, four-way traffic signals will be in place. These will be monitored throughout the day to help to manage the flow of traffic.
All traffic management will be clearly signposted, with advance warning signs in place to encourage motorists to allow extra time for their journey.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times during our works.
