Engineers from Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the gas distributor for the North of England, are carrying out repair work on gas pipes under Chanterlands Avenue in Hull.
So that engineers can carry out the work safely and efficiently, some temporary traffic management measures have been put in place.
From Wednesday 29 January, a section of Chanterlands Avenue and Perth Street West in Hull has been closed, with work expected to last until around Friday 21 February. Temporary three-way traffic lights are also in operation on Chanterlands Avenue. A signed diversion is in place for motorists, and access will be maintained where possible.
Chris Keith, Operations Manager at Northern Gas Networks, said: “Our initial work on this site was to repair damage to one of our pipes caused by a third party, and during that work we discovered the repairs would be more complex than we first anticipated.
“Our teams are working extremely hard, including during weekends, to complete these repairs and reopen the roads as soon as possible. We are keeping local stakeholders fully updated on the work, and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
Businesses who have lost money as a result of this work may be eligible to claim compensation via this form.
The gas supply to homes and businesses in the area will not be affected.
