Northern Gas Networks (NGN), the North of England’s gas distributer, will begin essential gas mains repair work at Holwell Road, Hull starting Monday 21 January.

Engineers have been closely monitoring a controlled gas escape at the roundabout on Holwell Road, and will be carrying out repairs to the pipe. Gas supply to neighbouring properties will not be affected.

The work is expected to last for approximately two weeks, having been carefully planned with Hull City Council to minimise disruption to road users.

In order to for engineers to complete the repair as safely and as quickly as possible, some traffic management has been introduced.

Temporary lane closures have been placed on the inside lane of the Holwell Road roundabout, and on the outside lane of Holwell Road.

It’s expected the works will extend journey times, so motorists are advised to leave extra time for travel whilst the temporary lane closures are in place.
