Engineers from Northern Gas Networks (NGN) have been working through the night to resolve the loss of gas supply in Barkisland, Halifax.

As a result, all mains were connected and commissioned at around 10.30pm last night and our engineers will be connecting properties throughout the day today (Friday 1 September).

Ian Waddle, Head of Customer Operations for Northern Gas Networks, said: “We have been working through the night to ensure the gas supply was returned as soon as possible and I’d like to apologise for any inconvenience the loss of service caused.”

Anyone who smells gas should call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.
