Gas supplies have now been restored to the majority of properties on Ashcroft Road in Featherstone, following third party damage to a local gas main earlier today.

Our engineers have repaired the damaged section of main, and reconnected most homes.

A handful of properties are still awaiting reconnection, as the homeowners were not available when our engineers called round.

John Pickering from Northern Gas Networks explained: “We need to carry out safety checks at each home, before reconnecting properties to the gas main. These checks have been carried out at most of the affected homes, but our engineers were not able to gain access to small number of properties today. We’d ask these remaining customers to get in touch, so we can get their gas back on as soon as possible.”

Customers still awaiting reconnection should call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.

A total of 97 properties were originally affected by the damaged main.

We are aware that approximately 97 properties in Ashcroft Road, Fetherstone are currently experiencing loss of gas supply.

This is due to third party damage to one of our gas mains.

Safety is our number one priority and our engineers are currently on site making the necessary repairs, and will restore the gas supply as quickly as possible.

Anyone who can smell gas or suspects carbon monoxide should call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999.

We apologise for any inconvenience, and can assure residents that we are working hard to restore normal service as soon as possible.
