We have a responsibility to work efficiently, and invest wisely, in order to keep our costs down, without compromising quality of service.
In 2016/17, we used feedback from our customers, combined with a sophisticated, data-driven approach, to ensure we made sound investment decisions about our network – putting money in where it will achieve the most.
We continued to use new technology and processes to save money on everyday tasks, such as digging holes, detecting gas leaks and replacing pipes.
We also outsourced some key engineering tasks, such as maintenance of strategic pipelines, to save money and inject additional expertise into the process.
