Please be aware from 1 January 2012 HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) will withdraw the zero VAT rating which we apply to quotations for first time domestic gas connections to an existing property. Acceptance and payment must be made before 1 January in order to benefit from zero VAT. Any acceptance and payment received after this date will be subject to the full VAT rate of 20%.
You can request a new single connection to the nearest gas main. This section applies to average domestic households consuming no more than 73,200 kilowatt hours (kWh).
Northern Gas Networks aims to recover those costs that it reasonably expects to incur when it provides connection services. The price to you will reflect the cost of labour, materials, and any other expenses required to carry out the work to your requirements. The standard prices below apply to the majority of new domestic connections.
| Inc. Excavation & Reinstatement | Ex. Excavation & Reinstatement | Zero Horizontal Length | |
| (ex vat) | £639 | £371 | £276 |
