William Shurniak, Chairman
Mr Shurniak has been Chairman of Northern Gas Networks since the creation of the company. He has a distinguished career in banking and has been a director of several companies in Hong Kong and Australia. Latterly he was Chairman of ETSA Utilities in South Australia and has been a Director of Hutchison Whampoa Limited in Hong Kong since 1984. He holds Honorary Doctor of Law degrees from both the University of Saskatchewan and the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
Basil Scarsella, Chief Executive Officer
Mr Scarsella took up his appointment of Chief Executive Officer when the company was created on 1 June, 2005. Previously he was CEO of ETSA Utilities in South Australia, a position he held for more than six years. He is a Member (AM) of the order of Australia, for services to football. Mr Scarsella holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and he is a Fellow of the Australian Certified Practicing Accountants (FCPA).
Kam Hing Lam
Mr Kam is Group Managing Director of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited, Hong Kong. He is also Deputy Managing Director of Cheung Kong (Holdings) Limited, President and Chief Executive Officer of CK Life Sciences International (Holdings) Inc, an Executive Director of Hutchison Whampoa Limited and of Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited, and a Non Executive Director of Spark Infrastructure Group, Australia. Mr Kam holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and a Masters degree in Business Administration.
Neil McGee
Mr McGee is Group Finance Director of Hongkong Electric Holdings and has worked with the Hongkong Electric Group and the Hutchison Whampoa Group since 1978 holding legal, corporate finance and corporate secretarial positions. He joined Husky Oil Ltd in 1998 as Vice President and Chief Financial Officer and from 2000 to October 2005 he was Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Husky Energy Inc. Mr McGee holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Laws degree
Tso Kai Sum
Mr Tso is an Executive Director of Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited and the Group Managing Director of Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and is also a Chartered Engineer.
Andrew Hunter
Mr Hunter is an Executive Director of Hongkong Electric Holdings Limited prior to which he was Group Finance Director. Mr Hunter holds Master of Arts and Master of Business Administration degrees and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Scotland.
Frank Frame
A lawyer by profession, Mr Frame has served as Deputy Chairman of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation; as Chairman of South China Morning Post Ltd and of Wallems Group; and as a Director of The Weir Group plc, Swire Pacific Ltd, the British Bank of the Middle East, Baxter International Inc and Consolidated Press International Ltd. He holds the degrees of Master of Arts and Bachelor of Laws.
Steven Fraser
Mr Fraser is Managing Director of United Utilities Energy and Contracting Services. This business is responsible for utility connections, electricity services, gas operations and metering and runs all of United Utilities non regulated network contracts. He was previously a Director of Bethell Power Services. Steven holds a Masters Degree in Engineering Project Management and a BA in Management.
Michael Robinson
Mr Robinson is a Director of RREEF Infrastructure, the alternative investment management division of Deutsche Asset Management. In this role he is responsible for the origination, execution and ongoing management of infrastructure investments. He was previously a Director at Société Générale specialising in power & utilities and infrastructure. Michael holds a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales.
