Interruption Reform

New arrangements for interruption came into effect on 1 October 2011. Customers are no longer able to elect to be interruptible but must successfully bid for interruption rights through an interruption tender process. The window when offers for interruption can be submitted is normally open in June each year as part of an annual process. The first interruption tender process for the gas year commencing 1 October 2011 was held in June 2008. Additional ad hoc interruption tender events may be held at other times of the year if necessary.

The next opportunity to bid for interruption rights will be in June 2013. Bids for interruption are invited to be submitted during the bidding window which will be open weekdays from 03 to 14 June 2013 inclusive. A copy of the overall timetable can be found here.

Summaries of the results for the June 2010, June 2011, December 2011 and June 2012 tender processes have not been published as the UNC requirements to publish were not met. The minimum requirement for publication is the acceptance of interruption offers submitted by at least three Users in an LDZ.
