Northern Gas Networks is owned by a consortium of three partners:

Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI) is the largest publicly listed infrastructure company in Hong Kong with diversified investments in Energy Infrastructure, Transportation Infrastructure, Water Infrastructure and Infrastructure Related Business. Operating in Hong Kong, Mainland China, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Canada and the Philippines, it is a leading player in the global infrastructure arena. As of October 31, 2008, the company's market capitalisation was about GBP5.5 billion.

CKI is a member of the Cheung Kong Group, which operates in 57 countries and employs about 260,000 staff worldwide.

In the UK, besides Northern Gas Networks, CKI also owns Cambridge Water Plc and has a strategic stake in Southern Water Group.

Power Assets Holdings Limited owns and operates a vertically integrated electricity generation, transmission and distribution business in Hong Kong.

It is 38.9% owned by CKI and in partnership, they own  an electricity distribution network in New Zealand. Together with other third parties, they also own three electricity distribution networks in southern Australia and six generating plants in Canada.

The company has also invested in a power plant in Thailand and two wind farms in China.

It is listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange with a market capitalisation of approximately £7.5 billion. They have around 1,900 employees.

The SAS Trustee Corporation is a pension fund for government employees in the state of New South Wales in Australia. It has net assets of approximately £11.2 billion.
