Eileen Brown from Cullingworth, completed the arduous 127 mile trek in seven days.
The 29-year-old, works for United Utilities, the company which runs the gas pipes in Yorkshire on behalf of Northern Gas Networks.
She said: “I’ve had a lot of close friends who have been affected by cancer over recent years and wanted the money raised from this walk to go to charities that give so much support to people who live with, and hopefully overcome, the disease.
“My colleagues at United Utilities were very supportive and I was delighted that four of them joined me at various stages on the route.
“I have to admit that there were times, especially during days three and four, when I thought it would be a miracle if I made it to the end! The walk was much more difficult than I’d anticipated, but it was a great experience.”
Eileen works as a network support officer for United Utilities based at Pottery Fields House, Leeds.
United Utilities has match funded the money raised through the walk. So far Eileen has collected £1,000 for Macmillan Cancer Research and a further £1,000 for St Catherine’s Hospice in Preston.
