Engineers from Northern Gas Networks continue to work hard to restore supply to 350 properties in the HX6 postcode (Triangle Village) area of Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire following a pressure-related incident yesterday (Wednesday 6 August) during a routine operation while carrying out essential gas mains replacement work.

As of 9.30pm we have restored supply to 57 customers and all remaining customers will have their gas reconnected tomorrow (Friday).

Once again we would like to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused and thank our customers for their patience at this time.

Wayne Fisher, Customer Operations Area Manager, Northern Gas Networks, said:  “We’d like to apologise for the inconvenience caused and we will be working hard to restore the gas supply to all customers affected as soon as possible and will be providing customers with regular updates on our progress.

“We will need access to all of the properties affected to turn the gas back and will let customers know when we need to enter their home.”

Northern Gas Networks has set up an incident room in Triangle C of E Primary School on Butterworth Lane, where hot plates will be available for those who need them while their gas supply is turned off.

Engineers will be in the area from 7am and if you have any questions in the meantime please contact the Customer Care team on 0845 634 0508, option 7.

Anyone who smells gas should call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999 immediately, calls are answered at any time of day or night and an engineer will be sent out to assess the situation promptly.
