Important information: Potential delay to your meter installation

Between 19 May and 6 June, it may take longer than usual to arrange the meter installation with your gas supplier. This is because of an Ofgem initiative to replace the IT systems used across the UK gas market. It involves all gas suppliers and will ultimately make it easier for you to switch supplier and/or get a smart meter. You can find more information about Project Nexus on Ofgem’s website.

Major upgrade to Dewsbury gas network reaches completion

A £500,000 Northern Gas Networks project to upgrade Dewsbury’s ageing gas network will reach completion on Friday 22 November.
The upgrade involved replacing 1.2km of ageing metal gas mains in the Church Street and Mill Street East areas of the town, with durable plastic pipes which will ensure the continued safe and reliable supply of gas to our customers in Dewsbury for years to come.

Wayne Fisher, Customer Operations Area Manager for Pennines at Northern Gas Networks, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any inconvenience caused during these essential works, and thank members of the public for their patience and support throughout.”
